Quilt Catch-up

I've been working hard to finish up some quilts. These 3 all needing binding and I finally got around to it!

This first quilt is a true scrap quilt- there is absolutely no color scheme!

This quilt has waited over 3 years to get its binding sewn on...
This is Mei's baby quilt. It was my first attempt at using a scalloped-edge...so easy- not sure why I waited so long to try it!

Catching Up

I definitely have some catching up to do on this blog. I realize this is a blog mostly for me to keep track of all of my projects. Some pictures of past projects completed:

My oldest's baptism dress (made over a year ago). I used Butterick 4967. Gorgeous and not nearly as difficult as I originally thought...either that or my ability to read a pattern is improving!
Easter dresses 2012. Got a smashing deal on bright yellow knit- it was on clearance! No pattern here- just made it up as I went along.
An apron I made for a friend:
A maternity maxi skirt...I'm not even pregnant anymore (that shows how far behind I am with blogging). I roughly followed this tutorial HERE.
Here my shirt is lifted a bit to show off the maternity band (vertical stripes).
A newborn-sized, crocheted owl beanie. Pattern found HERE.
Blessing dress I crocheted. I purchased the pattern HERE.

February Projects

My friend is having baby #6! Can you believe it?! She's a brave woman. She's having a girl- her baby shower was this past week. I made her a dress and some matching burp cloths with the leftover fabric. So cute.

More burp cloths (I will keep these for myself!)

A maxi dress for my growing belly! I've been lucky to find quite a bit of fabric on clearance at various places. I've made a couple of other dresses but haven't bothered to take pictures yet.

I heart Joel Dewberry's new Aviary line. I decided to experiment and see if I can create a diaper bag. I loosely followed this tutorial HERE- I adjusted the measurements to make it smaller and added more pockets on the interior (3 of them being elastic pockets).

Paper Bag Skirt

After finding this cute striped print on clearance for $3/meter I decided to loosely follow this tutorial.

This is the result.

And here's a 3 year old wanting to "pose" with mom.

Cleopatra Costumes

Following the above pattern, I killed myself for over 2 months making 3 Cleopatra outfits for Halloween. Do you know how hard it is to find gold lame fabric in Australia?! Anyways, they did turn out pretty amazing...but I sure hope they fit next Halloween.

The $10 dress

I came across this fabric on clearance for $10.00. Um, that may not sound like a great deal in America but it's a smashing, wicked awesome deal in Australia. And 1 hr later, this is what I came up with:

My daughter took this photo- which is why it's crooked...but I'm at least glad she managed to capture the entire dress!
